The Hotel DAS TRIEST is Sir Terence Conran's very first foray into hotel design. This famous English designer is known throughout the world for combining timeless quality with simple elegance. Conran's characteristic understatement stems from an aesthetic design philosophy that concentrates purely on what is necessary.

The design reflects a dedication to modernity and the highest quality materials and workmanship. Unlike the mass produced furnishings found in franchised hotel chains, the rooms and suites of the hotel DAS TRIEST have each been designed individually.

In addition to its specifically designed furnishings, DAS TRIEST features art-works and accessories by local and international artists which provide the hotel with its very particular homogeneous style. The lighting concept, maintained throughout the hotel, creates an intimate atmosphere in every corner of the house. The attention to detail and also some extravagant flower arrangements complete a picture that can perhaps only be described as eye candy.

Throughout his career, British master designer Sir Terence Conran has pursued a wide range of professional interests. He has built up retail chains, busied himself with architechture and design and furnished restaurants: Bibendum at the Michelin Building, Blueprint Cafe at the Design Museum, Le Pont de la Tour, Quaglino's and Mezzo, to name some of the famous ones in London.

In 1956 he founded the Conran Design Group with offices in London, Paris and Hongkong. There are also Conran shops in London, Paris, Tokyo and New York which offer furniture and modern interior design.

He is perhaps best known as the founder, in 1964, of the international furniture store chain 'Habitat'. His publications, in conjunction with Conran Octopus Ltd., include "The Conran Dictionary of Design", "The Ultimate House Book" and "Terence Conran's DIY by Design".
