at DAS TRIEST in Vienna
There's so much to do in Vienna! DAS TRIEST is a convenient city centre location with good transport links, making it the ideal accommodation for your city trip to Vienna.
Vienna combines art and culture, fashion, design and culinary delights into a harmonious whole. And the hip Freihaus district that's just a stone's throw from the hotel is a trendy shopping area with an international feel. It's bursting with popular bars and small designer shops - the heart of the creative scene in Vienna. Don't forget to allow time for a stroll through one of the liveliest and most interesting parts of the city.
The area around the hotel and the Schleifmühlgasse, just a few steps from the famous Naschmarkt, has witnessed the arrival in recent years of an impressive list of prestigious establishments that can easily compete with all the renowned "in" districts of cities around the world – from Notting Hill to the Lower East Side.
The Naschmarkt itself is a wonderful mixture of bars, cafés and market stalls. On Saturdays, there's a flea market here selling all manner of rare and curious items.
For culture-vultures, a visit to Vienna's State Opera will be a highlight, and you won't want to miss a walk along the Graben and down Kärntner Strasse in the city centre - an absolute must for any fan of Vienna.
From our hotel, it's easy to get to the Museum of Fine Arts, the stylish Musikverein with its impressive concert programme, the magnificent Karlskirche and the famous Secession building, built in 1898 to a design by Joseph Maria Olbrich, and now a venue for contemporary art exhibitions. The living Vienna – a colourful and varied mixture of then and now, classical culture and modern art.
It's also easy to reach the Wiener Prater on public transport, which, alongside its amusement park, is also one of the green lungs of Vienna.
Tips from our Front Office Manager Michael Krychl
"Vienna itself is an incorporable city with all the special buildings from famous architectures at the Ringstraße. There you can see a mixture of baroque and art nouveau/Jugendstil. The palace “Schönbrunn”, which was the summer residence of queen Sissy counts to the UNESCO world heritage and should be at the top of the agenda during a visit at Vienna.
The cultural landscape Wachau close to the city offers a special excursion at the Monastery Melk and Göttweig. Both are also UNESCO world heritages."
